Buford Meet the Alumni Ambassadors

beth buford '06

Hi! My name is Beth Buford. I am originally from Houston, Texas but currently live in Dallas. I joined my Dad as a Catawba College Alumni in 2006 when I graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts and a minor in Speech. As a student, I worked on The Pioneer staff and was a member of the Delphinian Society. As a Delphi, I met some of my best friends! We helped the local community, planned fun events for the society and for the Catawba Campus as a whole! During Football season, you could find me in the stands cheering the Catawba Indians to victory!

During my four years here, my professors helped me find numerous internships. I worked for CBS, NBC and a local Salisbury radio station. I was also able to spend a month in Costa Rica with fellow Catawba students studying Spanish and learning about the culture.

As you can see, Catawba College allowed me to take advantage of numerous opportunities! I always felt like I could be involved in everything! The campus is so beautiful and it is true — we really do become a "family!" The people I met here are some of my closest friends and continue to be a part of my life today!
When I was in your shoes looking at schools, I never thought I wanted such a small school, but man was I WRONG! I never could have picked a school that would give me so much and prepare me for anything life brings my way.

Since graduation, I have worked in Charleston, South Carolina and even as an Admissions Counselor for Catawba College! Currently I am an Associate Relationship Manager for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. I know that I am where I am today because of Catawba. I hope that you will have the opportunity to be a part of a school that will give you more than just an education, just like Catawba did for me. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in your college search! Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help!
