What We Do

The Office of Public Relations handles most all publications for the campus community and departments, oversees the College's news service, administrates a number of online presences for the College, and assists in departmental electronic communications.

Publications & PHOTOS

We have a Graphic Designer and Photographer on staff who designs a wide variety of brochures, pamphlets, posters, ads and programs to meet each department's needs. We also assist in writing the content and realizing the full audience experience of campus publications, such as:


NAME tags and business cards

To request Name Tags or Business Cards, log into CatLink and submit the "Name Tag / Business Card Request" form found under the "Services" tab in the "Make a Request" area.


Events

The Brady Author's Symposium, a popular annual event that features not only regional but national authors as well. Past featured authors: Pat Conroy, John Berendt, Gail Godwin, Ann Hood, Tim McLaurin, Jodi Picoult, and Gish Jen, Joanne Harris, Elizabeth Berg, Chris Bohjalian, and Colum McCann. Catawba College has held its annual symposium for over 25 years.


Facility Rentals and Conferencing

Catawba Conferences handles all requests and scheduling for campus facility rentals. To rent or schedule a facility, please e-mail conferences@catawba.edu or visit the Catawba Conferences website. For conferencing questions, call (704) 637-4200.


Website and electronic communications

The responsibility of developing and maintaining the official Catawba College website (www.catawba.edu) and various affiliated public-sector sites (Admissions, Parents, Athletics, Alumni, Faculty and Staff, etc.) fall under the Office of Public Relations, where the college Webmaster is housed. Our office also administrates various social media websites and accounts (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). See our Web Policy for more details.

The webmaster also assists departments on campus by designing and developing custom, branded e-mail communications for a wide variety of audiences.
