Volunteers Volunteer Catawba

Volunteer Catawba works with local community service agencies to offer a variety of one-day and ongoing service opportunities for Catawba students, faculty, and staff. Students run all aspects of Volunteer Catawba, from developing and implementing events and programs to recruiting other students to volunteer.

Any student is welcome to be involved with Volunteer Catawba. Students are encouraged to serve on any one of our teams or help out with our programs/events.

If you have any questions or want more info, contact Amy Keller at (704) 637-4748 or alkeller@catawba.edu.

NC-ACTS! AmeriCorps Program

NC-ACTS! is an AmeriCorps program of North Carolina Campus Compact (NCCC).  It is funded by a grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service to foster civic engagement on campuses, encourage collaborative relationships between campuses and their communities, and to connect individual students on NCCC campuses to the national service movement and the state service network.

NC-ACTS! is a campus-based program, engaging students in meaningful service to address the needs in local communities through higher education. Students serve in partnership with schools and community-based organizations in the areas of education, human needs/services, and volunteer recruitment/capacity building. After completing 300 service hours in one academic year, a student is eligible for an education award of $1,000. The educational award can be used for school loans or to finance undergraduate and graduate school.  The educational award is good for up to seven years.
