Center The Curriculum Materials Center

Our Mission

The mission of the Catawba College CMC (Curriculum Materials Center) is to provide services and resources that help prepare and enable reflective practitioners to teach effectively students in a global and diverse society.

Our Goals

To serve Catawba College Teacher Education students by:

  • developing and maintaining a P-12 collection
  • assisting with finding references and with instruction
  • providing access to current and emerging technology and equipment

About the Center

The Curriculum Materials Center is a facility that is affiliated with the Teacher Education Department, and as such serves teacher education majors and minors primarily. The collection contains textbooks and curriculum related materials for grades K-12 as well as several computers of various platforms for use by students in evaluating K-12 software.

The children's literature collection and the education-related journals are housed in the main library, although there are some small representative collections in the CMC. The collection is automated as a part of the Corriher-Linn-Black Library system, Voyager, and the CMC has a dedicated on-line public access catalog (OPAC) which accesses the catalog and circulation modules. The ERIC database available through NC-LIVE is of special interest to teacher education students.
