"I chose Catawba for 3 reasons. The first is that it is a small school with only 1000 or so students. I have attended small schools since 5th grade and Catawba's size was just right for me. The second reason was the overwhelming friendliness of the entire faculty and student body. Everyone was more than willing to answer questions and help me in any way possible. The final reason, and the most significant one, was that I felt I could make a difference at Catawba. There was no red tape preventing me from starting a club or beginning an initiative and I felt that at Catawba, nothing would hold me back. Coming into Catawba, I knew I wanted to be a business major, but was unsure as to what my focus would be. It wasn't until my second semester freshman year that I decided on the Sustainable Business Major because of how unique and exciting the degree seemed. Now I can say that Sustainable Business was absolutely the right choice. The classes are useful and interesting and are very relevant to the issues of our modern day world. I intend to use my experiences with the Sustainable Business Program to either enter into the Energy Industry (primarily sustainable energies like solar or wind) or go into business for myself (at some point)." |
