Brenda Byrd is a native of Galax, Virginia. She graduated from Galax High School, received her Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Radford University and is a certified Musikgarten Instructor. Her background includes practicing as a Registered Music Therapist for 6 years at Southwestern Virginia Training Center in Hillsville, Virginia, as well as working with serveral nursing homes in Virginia and North Carolina. Brenda has taught Musikgarten classes for numerous church programs. She currently teaches at First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury and offers classes in Musikgarten and pre-piano through the Catawba Community Music Program and Salisbury Parks & Recreation Department. Brenda and her husband Mark reside in Granite Quarry with their 2 children, Spencer and Katelyn. Their oldest son, Carson, lives in Blacksburg, Virginia and is a research fellow at Virginia Tech.
