First Business Scholars Weigh in on Their First Year at Catawba
APPLYING:
Students must apply for Admission and be accepted to Catawba in order to be considered for the scholarship:
For All Business Scholars During Their Four Years at Catawba College:
- Declare Business Administration (any concentration) or Sustainable Business and Community
- Development as a major during the second semester of the First Year, remain in a Business major.
- Attend all classes and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Features OF THE KETNER SCHOOL OF bUSINESS
(in addition to a strong academic program in Business)
- Mentoring program in conjunction with the Business Advisory Board, alumni, and upper level Business majors.
- Character building including opportunities to enhance skills in team work, leadership, ethics, and diversity awareness through participation in student activities, clubs, and organizations (SGA, PBL/FBLA, athletics, etc.)
- International travel opportunities (students will need to provide funding for international travel – travel grants may be available through the Center for International Studies).
- Lectures by CEO's, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and top faculty.
- Corporate visits to local companies.
- Experiential Projects including marketing surveys for local companies, business research, student managed investment fund, environmental awareness projects, etc.
- Junior and Senior Year:
- Professional development workshops including resume writing, interviewing techniques, dress for success, career preparation, personal finance and public speaking.
- Required Internship
- Graduate School preparation.
