He has been called a visionary for transforming food retailing and has been named among "Tar Heels Who Made a Difference" in the 20th century. Ralph W. Ketner, one of the co-founders of Food Lion and chairman emeritus of the board of Food Lion, Inc., delivered the keynote address at the ninth annual CEO Lecture on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
The 91-year-old Ketner offered remarks entitled "Success before Survival? Only in the Dictionary!" The lecture began at 11 a.m. in Keppel Auditorium of the Robertson College-Community Center on campus, followed by a reception in Peeler Crystal Lounge. This event was free and open to the public.
