The Department of Biology offers majors leading to the B.A. and B.S. degrees and a minor in biology.
The Catawba College Department of Biology has 6 full-time faculty members and 50 majors. The Department offers a Biology major with an option for a BA or a BS degree as well as a minor in Biology.
The Shuford Science Building is home to the Department of Biology. Facilities include; light and electron microscopes, computer laboratory, visible and infrared imaging systems, geographic information systems, herbarium, greenhouse, molecular genetics lab, and the adjacent Catawba College Ecological Preserve.
